Current Projects

The Green Road project is an environmental initiative that aims to promote environmental sustainability by planting trees along roads leading to natural reserves in Egypt. The project seeks to contribute to improving air quality, reducing the carbon footprint, and raising environmental awareness among community members. The project implemented by the YDI within the framework of the Small Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa (PPI-OSCAN) and the partnership between the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) and the Mediterranean Cooperation Center of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), in coordination with the head of branches of the Environmental Affairs Agency, directors of natural reserves and Atfal Masr Foundation.

Project Objectives

1. Improving the natural environment: by planting thousands of trees on the main roads leading to natural reserves, which contributes to reducing air pollution and increasing green spaces. 2. Raising environmental awareness: Providing awareness workshops and seminars for residents of the surrounding areas and participants in tree planting, to promote the importance of environmental conservation. 3. Supporting ecotourism: Developing roads leading to natural reserves makes them more attractive to local and international tourists, which enhances ecotourism in Egypt.
